This traditional farmhouse is set on a hilltop with total privacy and un-interrupted views over open fields to the front and with a south-facing pool. It is situated just 3kms from the medieval village of Caylus which has shops, mini supermarket, bakeries, bars, restaurants, post office, pharmacies and leisure activities (including tennis courts & lake for picnics). The historic market town of Villefranche de Rouergue is approximately 20 minutes’ drive with all main supermarkets and commerce.
The house is also within easy reach of the medieval town of St Antonin Noble Val (20 minute drive) which was the location for the film ‘The Hundred Foot Journey’ starring Helen Mirren. With its varied sporting activities, including: kayaking, rock climbing, zip wire, horse riding etc, the surrounding countryside also provides ample opportunities for walking with around 35 local mapped hiking routes & cycling (the Tour de France passed through Caylus in 2016). The area offers deep history, combined with varied geography and scenery.
Enclosed and gated gardens of over 5,000m² surround this hilltop property. The garden is laid to large expanses of lawn, ideal for children’s games, and offers natural shade. There is ample parking to the rear of the property as well as a small garage. A large stone terrace area and separate wooden decked area are set directly in front of the property for dining, with views to pool. The house has been very tastefully renovated to maintain many original features (exposed stonework and ceiling beams, original eviers, etc.), whilst at the same time being extremely well-equipped with top of the range facilities and furnished to a modern, contemporary style. A light and spacious fully equipped, open-plan kitchen/dining room, a lounge with lots of easy seating and a separate TV lounge with a wide range of ‘free to air’ channels (including the main UK channels), DVD player and various game consoles.

“a home from home! Despite the very last minute break, we couldn’t have found a better equipped holiday house.”
Bruce family, Scotland
“What can we say about the property – it was all we expected and much more! The facilities and amenities were great for everyone, particularly the pool which everyone loved! Overall, a brilliant stay in a beautiful property with stunning views and we would highly recommend this to any of our family and friends.”
Groom family, England
“We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay. The garden and swimming pool is where we have enjoyed spending most of our time, but the house is cosy and comfortable also. The chef in our party has made great use of the kitchen which is very stylish. The whole place is well kept and idyllic.”
Ellis family, England
“We booked Roussergues Sud over the internet from New Zealand months ago and always you wonder what you will actually find when you arrive at the property. Clearly the only mistake we made was not booking the property for longer. Roussergues Sud was everything we wanted and more. The decent pool towels, linen and well stocked kitchen were all an added bonus and much appreciated.”
Amos family, New Zealand
“What a great property, having stayed at a number of different ones over the years, it is fair to say that it is often hit and miss, but this is definitely a hit!”
“The house was brilliant in terms of accommodation and comfort and the pool was superb and we had great weather to relax by it….aaah….”
“Fabulous two weeks in a lovely property. Have stayed in many properties in the area but would definitely stay here again.”
“Hard to leave the pool but the whole place is lovely – the house, facilities and the views”
“We had a wonderful holiday – your house is beautiful and is situated in such a perfect position for the weather and the views. Watching the sunrise is marvelous. Caylus is a beautiful town and the drive to and from is so picturesque, it’s breath-taking.”
“We have had a marvelous week staying in the gite and visiting the beautiful surrounding towns and villages. Oh! and the pool was lovely and the children had such fun making the most of it and all the other facilities – how delightful! We were most thrilled by the expanse of the accommodation in addition to the breathtaking vista”
“Last year we stayed at Roussergues Sud where I had the best sleeps I have had for years. I wondered if you would mind asking the owners the name of the mattress on the main bed please?”
