The house

LOCATION

JACKRYN is located off a quiet country lane and set in extensive walled grounds. The gardens are laid to lawn, trees and shrubs and natural woodland: a delight for younger children to roam & play freely. With no immediate neighbours, this tranquil setting can be enjoyed by all for a truly quiet getaway.

Well situated for the village of Parisot (5 mins by car) with bar, restaurant, small store for daily provisions & bakery... together with Parisot Lake : a lovely setting for walking, open~air restaurant & child activities (also a large firework display and music on the first weekend of August). The medieval market towns of Villefranche de Rouergue just 20 mins away, Caylus (15 mins), St. Antonin (25 mins) for bars, restaurants, night markets & for sporting activities (canoeing, horse riding, rock climbing, etc.) Other delightful medieval villages/towns nearby with bars, restaurants, speciality shops and night markets.

The two properties are located within easy proximity to each other, but still with their own privacy aspects.

MAIN HOUSE:

The house

4 BEDROOMS / sleeps 8 (2 bathrooms / separate cloakroom)

Large bright rooms, oozing charm, character and original features such as open fireplaces and exposed beams.

GROUND FLOOR

Library , lounge with open stone fireplace. Adjoining is a charming souillarde (formerly used as kitchen preparation area). Separate Cloakroom.

Large kitchen / salle de sejours (7m x 4.5m) with dining table - this would have been the heart of day to day living in past times. Large range-style 5 ring gas burner, electric 1m oven, tall larder fridge, dishwasher, double sink with drainer, large open fireplace and high exposed ceiling beams. Access to one of several outside dining terraces (with separate table and seating).

Bedroom I : 6m x 5m with wrought iron kingsize bed, wardrobes / chest of drawers and large stone open fireplace. Ensuite bathroom with double sink & bath.

Bedroom III: single raised child bunk bed with desk under.

Bedroom IV: located the other side of the lounge - double bed.

Separate laundry room: with two washing machines, drying space & ironing facilities for use by both properties.

 

GUEST HOUSE:

More simply furnished but again large rooms, with a secluded external dining terrace hidden from view of the Main house (& separate BBQ)

Kitchen: 4 ring gas hob, electric oven, toaster, fridge, double sink unit.

Lounge / Dining room: with dining table & chairs for 6 with patio doors to the main external dining area. TV and DVD player.

Separate bathroom: with bath, WC & washbasin.

MAIN EXTERNAL DINING/RECREATIONAL AREA with table & chairs to seat up to 14 people under the shade of a huge ash tree and with views across the countryside.

The gardens surround the house and offer complete privacy with views to open countryside giving the opportunity for relaxation by the pool or a quiet stroll though the adjoining countryside.
There is a small pond within the gardens, which is fenced to a height of approximately 2 ft.
