Lovely large house with lots of space and a well equipped kitchen; Great pool which was heated ( lucky for us as weather was chilly in the second week); loved the table tennis table - a great addition to the property; Loved being able to walk from the house on various local paths It may be worth noting ( for those of us getting older!) that there are a number of steep steps particularly to access the pool and table tennis.
We stayed at Clauzel for 2 blissful weeks this summer. It was probably one of the most relaxing holidays we've had so far. The house (well equipped kitchen, lots of social space, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms), the view (oh the view!), the good sized swimming pool and the large garden all made our stay a perfect one. You definitely need a car, but places like the lovely Najac, the Parisot Lake and many other places are literally 10-15 minutes away - so you have a good balance between rural idyll and busier places. The Parisot bakery is the closest place to get bread for the morning/lunch. The night market at Najac was one of the best we've been to. All in all a truly wonderful place to stay - we would absolutely recommend this place to everyone we know as long as they don't book it up!
Many thanks for giving us the opportunity of staying in such a lovely French house. We have loved our visit to Clauzel, making use of the facilities, especially the pool. The views are fantastic and the hammock chair was a favourite spot ... Lovely to be back holidaying in France and Clauzel has made it all the more amazing. Hope to be back soon.
The views around this house are absolutely stunning and it’s been one of the best places we have stayed in years … The pool is great fun to swim in and the man who looks after the pool, Richard, is a great help. The house is warm and cosy and it has been such a joy to stay here, I hope we can come back. Thank you so much Clauzel
Such a wonderful place to have a relaxing holiday, the house itself is situated in such a beautiful spot with a fantastic pool! We had a wonderful time exploring the local villages, the market at St. Antonin and the village of Najac were particular highlights. Will definitely be returning.

Thank you for such a wonderful stay. We really did have the most wonderful time that was so so needed. We could not fault the location , the home and everything about it. So much so we would really like to book next year - was a unanimous vote which has never happened on a holiday before.
We've just returned from a 2 week stay at Mille Founs. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The house had everything we needed. A very extensively equipped kitchen, very nice shower rooms, comfortable beds and a very good pool. The recently installed air conditioning was there if we needed it. The position of the house is superb. Very peaceful, with excellent views over the Aveyron valley . The local village of Verfeil is walkable, and St Antonin and Laguepie are only 15 to 20 minutes away by car. There are plenty of walks from the house on quiet roads and forest tracks. This is certainly a house we would return to.
We had a lovely time at Mille Founs, and a great holiday. The house and setting is great, lovely views, lots of space, peace and quiet. It was quite hot on several days, but the plentiful shade of the big trees by the house really made a big difference, and it was the perfect combination of shade by the house and sunshine at the pool.
We had a lovely holiday at Mille Founs thank you. The pool and surrounding trees and garden are the stars and provided welcome shade in the heat. This a very comfortable quiet country retreat. The house was beautifully prepared for us. We appreciate the information you supply and contact beforehand.
We just want to say that we had a fantastic holiday in Mille Founs this year. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. It was peaceful, relaxing, adventurous, cultural and very hot! All just what we needed! The house, garden and pool were perfect and plenty hills for the boys to cycle around! Many thanks for making our stay very stress free. Also, Marcus was very helpful and friendly!
We arrived in the middle of nowhere after having driven a long way from Belgium with our 3 kids (10, 8, 5). The first thing we saw was the wonderful swimming pool and the wild but peaceful garden where we knew we would spend most of our time when we were not visiting castles and caves around. (Miland, Penne, Cenevière, Cas, La Phospatière, Maurillac, le Chateau du Bosc, etc. The list is huge and they are all amazing). We did not hesitate to drive up to 3 hours to go in the Périgord. In the evening, we were back to... The pool! It was a great stay, though the house could have been a bit more comfy. It is an old piegonnier which has been renovated in the 80's. The rooms on the last floor were really hot and we did not have a lot of options to cool them. Some items were broken on our arrival. On the other hand, the house was very well equipped with a lot of pans to cook. This is not usual for a rental. We loved it. We prepared nice food and then ate it every evening looking at the valley. This is the second time we rent with Country Houses in France. Again a very nice experience. And for the little items to fix, I have no doubt it will be done shortly if not done yet. Suzanne is very attentive for that. Thanks a lot for everything!

We very much enjoyed Roussergues and it had all we could need. Phillipe was always helpful and excellent at keeping the pool gleaming. We loved Caylus and enjoyed the tiny roads of the locality to cycle along. We've holidayed in France in Gites for 20+ years and Roussergues did not disappoint. Recommended without hesitation.
What can we say about the property – it was all we expected and much more! The facilities and amenities were great for everyone, particularly the pool which everyone loved! Overall, a brilliant stay in a beautiful property with stunning views and we would highly recommend this to any of our family and friends.
We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay. The garden and swimming pool is where we have enjoyed spending most of our time, but the house is cosy and comfortable also. The chef in our party has made great use of the kitchen which is very stylish. The whole place is well kept and idyllic.
We’re a family of two adults and two teenage children (17 and 14) . We book a self catering property with pool in France most years and have never returned to the same property. However we loved Roussergues Sud and the environs so much we have rebooked for 2024. The property is well appointed, the kitchen is great and has everything to keep a highly strung, temperamental chef happy! Roussergues Sud is close to the wonderful historic market towns of Najac (30 mins) Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val (15 mins) Villefranche-de-Rouergue (30 mins) and is perched on a hill with lovely uninterrupted panoramic views. Albi is 1 hour but well worth the effort if only for the Toulouse Lautrec Museum and the incredible Cathedral. Time it right and, to the dismay of our youngest, you might even bag an organ recital! Lautrec is only a further 20 minutes and worth the extra mile if your trip coincides with the annual garlic festival. Roussergues Sud’s nearest town Caylus is quaint with two unpretentious friendly bars, a couple of boulangeries a small supermarket and a couple of weekly markets. A lovely property and pool in a quieter, beautiful, off the beaten track area of France

We had a great time at La Salesse and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is characterful, homely and cosy, and lots of space for the 3 of us. Well equipped, and the welcome basket plus cold beer in the fridge was thoughtful and a nice touch. We particularly enjoyed breakfast on the balcony with the morning sun, the good sized pool, peace and quiet, excellent stargazing with little light pollution, and hearing the distant hooting of owls at night as we drifted to sleep. The goat neighbours are fun to watch and are not noisy. The location is an excellent combination of off the beaten track peace and quiet, and good access to local sights, amenities and activities within 30 minutes. We enjoyed visiting St Antonin on market day, canoeing the Averyon gorge from St Antonin, and Cordes-sur-Ciel, all followed by returning to La Salesse for a refreshing swim! Our favourite restaurant is the Moulin de Varen, so good we went twice (and twice last year!) - fantastic food, service and location, highly recommended. Flora the caretaker lives close by, and was friendly and available but discrete. Good information in the house folder. Overall La Salesse met all of our expectations and we would recommend to others as a great place to spend a family holiday in this region.
e have just returned from our 2 week holiday at La Salesse. It is a quiet out of the way spot in a hamlet with lovely French neighbours. Flora who cleans the pool is an absolute gem and very helpful. The house has everything you need for a relaxing stay, we loved the eclectic mix of ornaments. A big plus was the mosquito door onto the balcony and also all of the windows. The pool is fantastic and we spent quite a few hours lounging there. There are some fantastic villages to visit, although not far in distance it does take time due to the windy roads. In summary well worth a visit.
The house was lovely, well equipped and obviously very well loved, not at all like staying in a holiday place but someone's home and the pool was beautiful. We also saw loads of wildlife, red squirrel, pine marten, loads of deer, boar and the highlight was watching a beautiful kingfisher fishing while we had lunch at Le Moulin. It even came and sat on the windowsill right next to our table!
We had a lovely time in La Salesse—it's a super house, and the pool is absolutely fantastic. The welcome basket was particularly appreciated after our long drive down from Cherbourg, and the information in the house was really helpful. The location was also ideal for visiting local towns and markets, which we thoroughly enjoyed!
We absolutely loved la Salesse…. I was happiest there than I’ve been in ages. (It’s been a tough year, dad died in Jan). Window screens were great at La Salesse… and made life there more comfortable. No bites. The pool and view were stunning, and we occasionally had swallows dip in the pool for a drink in the eve which was amazing. The setting of La Salesse made it feel very private. Any way, I’d love to return to La Salesse.
We had a lovely week in your beautiful home relaxing in the glorious peace and tranquility! The weather was kind so much time spent relaxing by the pool and on the two cloudy days made the most of exploring the area. A jolly evening in Parisot on the last night, the French do love their karioke!! We did some watering to ensure the beautiful plants didn’t suffer in the heat. I was intrigued by what I think was a smooth snake living in the hole in the wall on the left as you through the gate up to the pool…..it gave me quite a shock as it slithered away into the wall! The house was perfect, everything that we needed and many thanks for the basket of goodies that surprised and delighted us on our arrival.

Don't want anyone else to come and stay because we love it so much. Amazing house, fabulous pool(even when the weather is a bit chilly the aspect means it is still lovely) Views to die for. Scenery-wow! Mad farmer adds to the entertainment. Just a wonderful place to stay.
After many years of hopping around various French properties and locations for our vacations, we found Mazerac. We've never previously returned to a property. This year was our third family visit and, if events allow, we will return again. It's beautifully situated in quiet, peaceful countryside with an amazing view from the front of the house that we never tire of. Nearby Puylaroque has all of the amenities you need, including a fantastic boulangerie with excellent espresso for those early morning breakfast runs. The house is welcoming and relaxed, offering everything you'd need for a contented holiday. Bedrooms are comfortable and well-appointed, and downstairs is an open plan area of kitchen, dining room, inglenook and reading snug that leads into a covered patio area where we ate the vast majority of our meals. The kitchen, in conjunction with the utility room, sequestered in a separate room across from the house, has every amenity you could wish for, including a very efficient fridge and freezer (the joys of cold beer and sauvignon blanc!). There are numerous games, books, toys, bicycles and other distractions to be enjoyed should you find yourself in need, although we find that the fantastic pool was all we required. It's salt water, luscious and a luxurious way to pass the time. I could ramble on, but I won't. Is Mazerac worth renting for your holiday?. Unequivocally yes, but just try not to book it when we want to go.....
Mazerac was a wonderful house to stay in. The photos on the website do not do it justice so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived by the space inside the house and size of the pool. It’s a complete sun trap by the pool so even though we had a few chillier days it was still plenty warm enough to lounge about and swim. Will definately be back…we loved it. Highly recommend if you want peace and quiet within driving distance of some beautiful towns
Waking up at Mazerac and looking out from the bedroom windows was like a movie set, the kind you don’t really think can exist. The house is situated in stunning scenery all around, and the house blends into it perfectly. A nice 40 min each way walk would take you to the town or the boulangerie/patisserie which we did every day for fresh croissants and bread. The French People we met were so friendly and polite and it all seemed so perfect. The house is so well equipped and is just like walking into a home. The place is well furnished and comfortable and we all felt at ease from the start. The pool is clean and perfect on a hot summer day. Special thanks to Peter and Terri who were so helpful to us with their local knowledge and kept the pool and garden in immaculate condition. Very relaxing holiday and has persuaded us that French holidays are a thing we will pursue again.
We've just returned from a very relaxing week's stay at this lovely house. We loved the location right next to the church (which was never used during our stay). The little hamlet is wonderfully peaceful but didn't feel isolated and is not too far from amenities. The stunning view stretches for miles. The house is large and so well-equipped for both adults and children and the pool and terrace are ideal. The large loggia meant that we could sit outside even during a couple of thunder storms in the evening. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. The booking process was so easy and completely stress-free. Jayne and Suzanne were super-helpful throughout. We would definitely stay there again.
Our second visit to Mazerac. It’s a fabulous house, hard to think of a nicer one we’ve stayed in. It is very comfortable, both outside and inside with every amenity conceivable. The location both in terms of the view, proximity to village plus restaurants and just within this fantastic slightly quieter part of France is second to none. Amongst other things, we particularly liked the fact that at various times when walking locally we encountered hares, owls, bats, deer, thousands of frogs and last but not least very friendly locals.
La Condamine

- 1000 - 1800
- Close to town
- Stunning Views
- Private pool
- Full renovation 2025
- 2 Bedrooms

The house was perfectly situated along the river just 5min walk to the centre of the town and 2mins walk to a fantastic bakery - it was ideal for our family along with the well looked after swimming pool. St Antonin is such a cool town with a good number of great restaurants, shops and a fantastic Sunday market. As the first week was so hot, we stayed local and the town has everything you need/want. A perfect holiday. Thank you
We were delighted with our stay at the REFURBISHED La Condamine - and I suspect I might not have been writing in such glowing terms, had the refurbishment not taken place! The first floor layout suited us perfectly. We were in the end just two couples, occuping the double room with ensuite; and the twin room with bathroom across the corridor, next to the guest toilet. This gave out onto the spacious and comfortable sitting room and dining table (which we did not use) and into the well appointed kitchen. From the kitchen door immediate access to the balcony with the table where we had all our meals, enjoying the views over the garden/pool, and beyond to the river, and with the magnificent views in the background. We never had recourse to the ground floor which was essentially a self-contained apartment - ideal for a couple with a young child! The bathrooms were a delight, especially the walk-in spacious showers. The house was very well equipped, the kitchen met all our needs. The pool was lovely, not deep but attractively kidney-shaped and accessible. In the absence of Roman steps I, as an arthritic old man, was glad of the handrail and ladder! In fact the only thing missing, that is for me personally, was a poolside shower. We would gladly come again to La Condamine, which additionally was so well situated for easy access to lovely, lively St Antonin, and the River Aveyron. Perfect!
We liked the situation of the house very much and it was very clean and tidy when we arrived. The pool and lawn were well maintained. The kitchen was well supplied and the living room comfy (though we didn't use it much!!) It was lovely to eat on the balcony with the view of the river.
We have been to St Antonin many times but this was our first stay in La Condamine. What a lovely house and in such a convenient location for strolling into town and with wonderful views of the Aveyron. The house is well equipped and very comfortable and the addition of a welcome package was lovely and really appreciated. Suzanne made the whole process very easy from initial booking through to arrival at the house. We love this part of France and loved our stay at La Condamine and we certainly plan to be back in 2024!
This is our 4th visit to La Condamine and we absolutely love it. It is a very special house in a wonderful location. The house is full of charm and is great for a family and also couples (we have been pre and post children!). Suzanne and team are incredibly helpful and make the booking process and arrival all very easy! We are hoping to visit again in 2024 as I'm not sure we can go too long without our fix of La Condamine and Saint Antonin Noble Val! I cannot recommend La Condamine or Country Houses in France enough.
We found the process for booking our holiday in France this year incredibly easy and we were provided with comprehensive information on how to get to the house and what to expect when we arrived. La Condamine is exceptionally well located. It is a short walk to the town and all its amenities and is right next to the Aveyron river. We found the split-level accommodation very helpful, as we had elderly relatives with us, and they were able to have their own space. This is one of our favourite parts on France and we enjoyed the peace.
