The area has some excellent restaurants to suit everyone and are happy to serve children.
Most open every day in summer but it is a good idea to check first before a long journey!
Lunch is from 12 to 2pm (the French are strict about the lunch time) and dinner anytime from 7pm (restaurants don’t stay open very late).

Cross the bridge over the river coming out of St Antonin and head for Penne, shortly on that road there is a turning to the right signed ‘la Corniche’. Then just follow the road for approximately 10 mins – somewhat hazardous but scenically very dramatic – then you arrive at a small hamlet where you will see the restaurant immediately on the right hand side. Please note this restaurant does not take credit cards.
Important Point: On leaving the restaurant; particularly after enjoying some rather good wines, instead of retracing your steps, it is better to continue in the same direction as on arrival and pick up the signs which will take you back to St Antonin Noble Val

The restaurant is situated on the river and is clearly signposted once entering the village of Varen. This seems to be the most highly praised and consistent restaurant over previous years. Very pretty old mill, offering very good cuisine. It has recently changed hands but reports remain good.
